About Me

I'm Joey Stout — a DevOps engineer, open source tinkerer, and content creator based in Ohio.

I spend my days working with Kubernetes, Terraform, and Spacelift, and my evenings building side projects that solve problems I actually run into. I'm a big believer in automation, clean infrastructure code, and tools that make developers' lives easier.

Off the clock, I'm a dad of four, an avid hunter, and a dedicated fisherman. I document both my technical projects and outdoor adventures on this site and on YouTube.

I believe in owning your infrastructure, writing code that lasts, and getting outside once in a while.

What I'm Working On

Open Source Projects: I maintain a handful of open source tools ranging from Kubernetes documentation browsers to fishing games. You can find them all on GitHub.

Consulting — Nerds Who Fish, LLC: I help small businesses get enterprise-level DevOps infrastructure at small-business prices. Kubernetes, Terraform, Spacelift, CI/CD — the works. No sales reps, no offshore teams. Just a local engineer who actually picks up the phone.

Content: I make videos about DevOps, infrastructure as code, and outdoor adventures. Subscribe on YouTube if that sounds interesting.
